Please leave constructive critique as I will try to do with fellow artists. It is, to me, the entire reason for the comment button besides helping someone recognize their talent.

"Photography has been my passion for as long as I can remember. I love to be a shutterbug and take photos whenever I can. It's always been so relaxing to be able to take pictures and capture the moment. I hope that my art will inspire other artist just like other artists inspire me."

...What have they done to the Earth?
What have they done to our fair sister?
Ravaged and plundered and "ripped" her and "bit" her
Stuck her with knives in the side of the dawn
And tied her with fences
And dragged her down

I hear a very..gentle...sound
With your.....ear..down....to...the ground
We want the world and we want it...
Now
'Now?'
NOW!
- The Doors (When the musics over)
Ever since my father was of young age, he was intrigued of photographs taken by photographers that had used old school 4x5 field cameras. He told me stories about how he would see these photographers selling pictures to peasants for identification cards in a park outside of a government building in his home country of EL Salvador using nothing but these 4X5 camera and makeshift darkrooms. This intrigued my father very much because he really liked the concept of darkroom processing and photography in general. When he (my father) moved to America he purchased himself a Minolta 35mm Camera and took many portraits of himself and my mother. He was very happy to be exploring his hobby of film photography He dreamed of learning one day to process film as he had seen on TV. It was not until my visit to El Salvador when I was a teenager that I really became interested in the art of photography. I loved the landscape so much that I wanted to capture all of my moments on my camera so that I can see them later. When I returned to the States I carried this hobby and inspiration and kept taking pictures of anything that intrigued me. I took many pictures and was very inspired by photographers that I would see on online art communities.
I then met the shop owner of South Side camera when I went to replace one of my cameras flashes that I had broken. When I had visited the shop it was my first time going there on my own since my father had taken me there when I was younger. I was very interested in film processing just by being in the photography store; back then there was so much that I didn't know about film processing that the thought of it made me want to learn it so much I also wanted to get into photography so that one day I could show my father how to process film because he had never found the chance to learn to film process. Raja the shop owner told me that he was very amused to see a young teenager getting into the field of film photography and processing black and white prints he was also very amused to see that I was eager to learn it on my own. I was told to go to Bakersfield college and learn to process in a class. but I was the impatient type and I did not want to wait until my time in college so I picked up a book from Raja's shop and began to force myself to learn the method of film photography. (back then I was very much a procrastinator) I told my father that I wanted to get into film processing, he seeing that my pictures were not very good, told me that when my photography became acceptable that he would then help me get film equipment. I tried very hard and saved up much money before I purchased my first photo enlarger and my film processing equipment. I purchased all the necessary materials and chemicals from Raja at discounts before he closed his store that same year.
I learned much from photography. It taught me Patience, Practice, It taught me to learn from my mistakes and to explore new things and Ideas. Photography Taught me that there was there was never such a thing as mistakes but new things to be tried. Learning from my experiences in photography I then learn many different forms of art like Music, Traditional Painting and drawing, Motion Pictures, Reading, Writing essays, novels, and short poems and many more new things that I still like to do and explore. Photography made me for the first time try really hard to learn something to the fullest extent and not let anyone ever tell me that I can't do anything. Photography was my doorway into self improvement and self determination. Before this I was but a conformist teenager who did not know anything about what I was going to make myself in life and cruising through my time in school and life. Now that I am who I am and know what I want in my life I have experienced much grace from accepting what I love to do. I have been rewarded first place in Kevin Mcarthy's Congressional Art Competition for high school students (An Artistic Discovery) In the Computer Generated Art category. This inspired me much because at that time in my life I was experiencing much stress from graduating high school and not really knowing what my major should have been. When I was making my print for the contest I was really only trying to have fun with my classmates and was being myself. I never intended to win the contest in any way what so ever but winning the contest showed me that in order to succeed to need not only have skill and knowledge but you must be yourself as well
